Seriously? George was awful in that movie. I am one of his biggest fans but wow…whoo..that was awful. Just terrible acting. Stick to singing George.

He makes plenty of money as a singer and performer. He didn’t want to do another movie. He’s a singer not an actor.

It was a good film but to be honest, George is so low keyed and laid back that I think he would have a hard time characterizing someone too far from who he is and Pure Country was perfect for him. Not only could he easily fit into the role, but I think at the time, it said a lot about he felt persanally about the music business so it spoke volumes to alot of people who were able to reflect on the role being true. It wasn’t his first acting role though because he did have a part in a movie “The Soldier” and a small bit in “Mystery Alaska” and most recently wouls be the 2002 family/childrens film “Grand Champion”

He is so involved in other things including his home life, ranching and the rodeo. You would have to be terribly motivated to have that much on your plate and I think his main focus is his family..

There could be many reasons. I thought the female protagonist in Friday the 13th Part 1 did a fabulous job. She appeared briefly in 2 and was never seen again on the silver screen.

I learned recently that some sicko stalker scared her away from movies until now.

But for George it could be anything. Actors have to put up with temperamental directors that singers probably do not need… Or George may simply be more interested in singing.

I think he came to the conclusion he is a singer, not an actor.
